Hope as Ikwera Girls’ SS receives new Head teacher

Ikwera Girls’ Secondary School yesterday received a new head teacher and board members.

The school located in Kwania district since 2018 has been grappling with a number of challenges leading to a drop in students’ enrollment from 523 to 165.

Yesterday, the outgoing head teacher Alonysius Odongo handed office to Christine Namiringo who was transferred from St. Kizito S.S in Luwero District.

The old chairperson Board of Governor of the school Dr. Judith Abal also handed over office to the new board chairperson Father. Valente Innocent Opio who doubles as the parish priest of Aduku Catholic Parish.

Other new members of the Board of Governors of the school are; Samfan Omara, Ajwang Jennet Lydia and George KK Akaca, among others.

The acting Kwania district education officer Samuel Bunga said he is optimistic that the new head teacher and board of governors will revive the lost glory of the school

Meanwhile the new chairperson board of governors, Rev. Father Valente Innocent Opio pledged to work hard to improve academic performance and student enrollment.
