Alebtong district chairman David Kennedy Odongo has filed a case at Alebtong police station accusing the district CAO and procurement officers of awarding a tender at night, which is illegal.
Last month, David Kennedy Odongo stopped auditing of contractors who awarded contracts in 2023/24 FY in Alebtong district accusing civil servants in the procurement unit of rolling out the process without the audit committee
DK Odongo said he filed a case against the district CAO Robert Abenaitwe and civil servants in the procurement unit at Alebtong police station accusing them of displaying the lists of contractors awarded tenders at night on Wednesday on the public notice board.
Odongo DK said this is an illegal act that should be investigated by police and legal action consequently should be taken.
Odongo accused the district CAO Robert Abenaitwe of hurrying to display the list of contractors warded tenders after realizing that the district leaders had ran to the IGG to probe numerous irregularities in the district.
Effort to speak to Alebtong district CAO, Robert Abenaitwe was futile as his phone number was off air by press time.
