Police in Oyam district is on the spot over alleged concealment of defilement case involving a 14-year old girl.

The minor was reportedly tricked by one Achola Farida who took her to Luzira Lodge, Kamdini Town Council on 8/1/2025 from where she was reportedly defiled by a Kenyan national only identified as Sam.

Patrick Owino a parent of the P7 minor who is pupil of Amaji primary school, said after reporting the matter to police at Kamdini Police station, police arrested Achola Farida but the case file went missing thrice, and they were forced to file the same case at Oyam Central Police Station vide SD Ref 31/02/01/25.

Owino expressed fear that the Kenyan national could have bribed police that he said are no longer interested in the matter, much as medical reports indicated that the minor was indeed defiled and reportedly infected with HIV

Owino alleged that police aided the Kenyan national and his colleague, a Somali national to flee to Bweyale, Kiryandongo District where they are allegedly hiding

However, the Kenyan national identified as Sam, denied defiling the minor.

Oyam DPC, SP Job Mutegeki, confirmed this complaint but did not state whether the minor was defiled.

DPC Mutegeki also denied bribery claims and said investigation into the matter is ongoing.
