Administrators of Teioro Primary School in Abongomola Sub-County, Kwania District, are currently facing a significant challenge with only two P7 candidates.
The school Head teacher Ronald Odongo explained that the school is struggling with high absenteeism and the transfer of students to other institutions.
Odongo urged parents to send their P7 children to the school to ensure there are enough candidates for the Primary Leaving Examination (PLE).
UNEB requires a minimum of 15 P7 candidates per school center for registration to sit for the national exams.
Patrick Ayo, the LC1 Chairman of Arwot-Odong and a member of the PTA at Teioro Primary, expressed concerns about the lack of support from both parents and district leaders.
Martin Omara, a local from Apari B in Teioro Parish, Abongomola Sub-County, criticized the government and education stakeholders for poor education standards, accusing them of prioritizing personal gains over the needs of the community.
