Muslim leaders under Lango Muslim District have suspended two of their leaders for failing to convene meetings and for alleged collusion in efforts to undermine the Muslims of Lira Main Mosque.

Sheik Ibrahim Okello, the Deputy Khadi of Lango Muslim District, confirmed the suspension of Juma Murungu, the Chairperson of Lango Muslim District, and Adams Ayo, the Secretary of Lango Muslim District.

Sheik Okello explained that the two leaders had not held any meetings in the past three years, which has left Muslims in the district facing several unresolved challenges.

However, Juma Murungu stated that his suspension will only be enforced if it is found to be in accordance with the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council’s constitution
