Gov’t chief whip Obua Pledges Continued Support for Ajuri despite Loss

Government Chief Whip and Ajuri County MP, Denis Hamson Obua, has reaffirmed his commitment to supporting development in Ajuri, Lango, and Uganda, despite losing his parliamentary seat.

In a press release this morning, Obua congratulated the winner, UPC flag bearer Jalameso Fred, and welcomed the election outcome.

He thanked the people of Ajuri County for entrusting him with leadership and said he had done his best to advance development in the area.

Obua, who also serves as NRM Vice Chairperson for Northern Uganda, wished Jalameso Fred success in his five-year term from 2025 to 2031.

Last evening, Alebtong District Returning Officer, Michael Olobo, officially declared Jalameso Fred as the duly elected MP for Ajuri County.

Jalameso Fred polled 16,336 votes, while Obua Denis Hamson of the NRM came second with 15,568 votes. Emmanuel Ongom Okwel of the FDC received 2,874 votes, Molo Tom Jasper got 1,585 votes, and Omara Steven trailed with 519 votes.
