{"id":6242,"date":"2024-05-31T15:41:35","date_gmt":"2024-05-31T12:41:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vol.co.ug\/?p=6242"},"modified":"2024-05-31T16:02:53","modified_gmt":"2024-05-31T13:02:53","slug":"amolatar-court-remands-three-over-theft-of-newly-born-child","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vol.co.ug\/index.php\/2024\/05\/31\/amolatar-court-remands-three-over-theft-of-newly-born-child\/","title":{"rendered":"Amolatar Court remands three over theft of newly born child"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>By<\/strong> Voice of Lango Editorial (editor@vol.co.ug)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Amolatar<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Amolatar grade one magistrate\u2019s court has remanded to prison three people including a female and two males over allegations of stealing a newly born child from Amolatar Health Center IV.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The trio who were charged on Thursday before Amolatar Grade One Magistrate&#8217;s Court presided over by Hassan Butoto Masaba include;  Stella Akullo, Obote Miss and Ongengo Jackson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last week, Police from Amolatar Central Police Station arrested Stella Akullo over allegations of stealing a newly born child from the maternity ward at Amolatar Health Center IV.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Police, on the 24<sup>th<\/sup> of May 2024, unidentified woman stole a baby girl from the ward immediately after her delivery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Obote Miss and Ongengo Jackson were also arrested for aiding the crime after it emerged that they connived and allegedly paid Akullo shs 50,000 to help them get a new born baby for human sacrifice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The matter was registered at Amolatar Central Police Station under SD Ref: 02\/24\/05\/2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Thursday Akullo,Obote and Ongengo were charged before the Amolatar grade one magistrate court presided over by Hasson Butoto Masaba.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The presiding magistrate did not allow the trio to take plea as his court lacks the jurisdiction and further remanded them until 19<sup>th<\/sup> June 2024, where they will  return to court for mention of the case.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Voice of Lango Editorial (editor@vol.co.ug) Amolatar Amolatar grade one magistrate\u2019s court has remanded to&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":6243,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":true,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[60,5],"tags":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.1 -
