The Office of the Prime Minister has donated 30 tons of relief food to the people of Oyam District, whose crops were destroyed by last year’s floods.

The relief supplies include 20,000 tons of maize and 10,000 tons of beans, which will be distributed to residents of Abok, Ngai, Iceme, and Otwal Sub Counties.

Speaking at a preparatory meeting for the distribution of the relief food at the Oyam District Council Hall, Minister of Gender, Labour and Social Development, Betty Amongi Akena, who is also the Oyam South MP, urged the district disaster committee to act swiftly in responding to disasters, allowing for prompt government assistance.
