The authorities of Lira district local government have transferred a total of 28 primary school headteachers.
The district inspector of schools Patrick Olwit Ogwang said the transfers were effected to improve performance in the district.
Olwit said some of the transferred school heads had taken a very long time in the same school while others who retired had to be replaced.
He tasked the newly transferred headteachers to work hard to better the performance of schools they have been posted to.
In 2019,the district education department gave all headteachers targets of producing at least 10 pupils in first grade or risk being sucked.
