Gov’t rolls out payment of SAGE beneficiaries in Alebtong

Ministry of gender, labor and social development has rolled out payment of beneficiaries of the Social Assistance Grant for Empowerment (SAGE) program in Alebtong district.

Under SAGE program, elderly persons aged 80 and above are paid shs25, 000 monthly stipend.

 Payment of SAGE beneficiaries was yesterday launched in Awei Sub County while today, it was in Alebtong town council.

The community development officer of Alebtong district Dorcas Vicky Auma said they are paying elderly persons 150,000 shillings each for the their accumulated payment of six months.

Auma said the national technical support unit under ministry of gender is also registering more elderly persons to benefit from SAGE.

She said currently 1600 elderly persons are being paid under SAGE in Alebtong district.
