Otengero Olang Okwero Yic agree to pay blood compensation for Dokolo-Kaberamido road accident victims

Otengero Olang Okwero Yic clan has agreed to pay blood compensation for four victims of an accident that occurred eary this week along Dokolo-Kaberamaido road.

Recently, a vehicle number  UAZ 298P belonging to the head teacher of  Aputi SS, Amolatar district, Moses Awira  knocked dead,  Jovan  Opio , Erick Adoko  and Darius  Ogwal who were P.2 pupils of Dokolo Primary school and an elderly woman identified as Evaline Among.

At a meeting held at Dokolo Town Council Hall involving clans of the four accident victims and Otengero Olang Okwero Yic clan, it was resolved that Otengero Olang Okwero Yic clan pays blood compensation for all the accident victims and meets treatment cost for three others admitted at Dokolo Health Center IV and one other person admitted at Soroti Regional Referral Hospital.

Joel Opota Okuma the Speaker of Dokolo District who is spearheading mediation committee for the four accident victims said the meeting resolved that Otengero Olang Okwero Yic will meet burial expenses for the deceased, pay blood compensation and treatment costs for the injured persons.

Rashid Eton, the LC3 chairman of Bata Town Council, who is among leaders of Otengero Olang Okwero Yic called on the bereaved families to hold burials for the deceased on different days to allow the clan take part in the burial programs.

By press time, the head teacher of Aputi SS, Moses Awira whose vehicle caused the accident was still being held at Dokolo Central Police Station.
