RTO Mathias Okwir transferred to East Kyoga

Okwir Mathias Mulumba the former North Kyoga regional traffic officer who has been transferred to East Kyoga has rallied police to work with boda-boda riders to fight crime.
At his farewell ceremony held at 291 suites hotel, on Saturday, Okwir Mathias Mulumba said boda-boda riders have reliable information on criminals and asked police to work with them to fight crime.
Okwir also said the road safety training they conducted for drivers and boda-boda riders contributed to a decline in accident cases.
Lira City deputy mayor, Rebecca Alwedo Ogole said Okwir supported them in regulating street vending and traffic congestion.
Alwedo also hailed Okwir for uniting factions of boda-boda associations in Lira city.
Kole RDC, Josephine Omara Olili said Okwir was a dedicated and disciplined public servant.
The assistant Lira Resident City Commissioner, Bonny Ferdinand Okello Alele commended high level of unity between different police departments that has supported peace efforts in Lira City.
