26 priests and decons ordained at All saints Lira

Lango Diocese ordained 26 priests and deacons yesterday at a ceremony held at All Saints Cathedral Boroboro in Lira City East Division.
The Bishop of the Diocese of Lango, Rt. Rev Prof. Alfred Olwa, who officiated the ordination, also recalled retired priests to support the pastoral work.
Bishop Olwa also announced the creation of 10 new parishes bringing the parishes in the Lango Diocese to over 70.
He also deployed two priests who have crossed from West Lango Diocese to serve in Lango Diocese.
Bishop Olwa called on Christians to welcome priests who have been posted to their parishes.
The MP for Erute South Jonathan Odur applauded the Bishop for creating new parishes some of which are in his constituency.
He called for unity and team work for the development of the new parishes.
The senior presidential advisor for Lango, Sam Engola while speaking at the ceremony warned Christians against mistreating clerics posted in their churches.
Engola also rallied Christians to embrace government poverty alleviation programs.
The chairperson Laity of Lango Diocese Sam Atul who doubles as mayor of Lira City tasked the newly posted priests to develop areas where they have been posted.
The chairperson Laity of Lira Urban West Archdeaconry, Bonny Ferdinand Okello Alele who is also the assistant resident city commissioner Lira urged the clerics to mobilize Christians for development.
