The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, His Grace Dr. Steven Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu, has praised the late Dokolo Woman Member of Parliament, Hon. Cecilia Atim Ogwal, describing her as an accomplished and visionary leader.

Archbishop Kaziimba made the remarks during a visit to the late legislator’s home in Alito Town Council, Kole District, where he laid a wreath on her grave as a sign of respect and remembrance.
He used the occasion to call for unity among leaders at all levels as a foundation for national development.

The Archbishop also decried the electoral violence that marred the recent NRM party primary elections, urging political players to embrace peaceful and democratic processes.

He commended the late Hon. Cecilia Ogwal for her immense contribution to leadership in both Uganda and across Africa, noting that her efforts were always geared toward improving the wellbeing of others.

The Bishop of the Diocese of Lango, Rt. Rev. Prof. Alfred Olwa, also paid tribute to the late Ogwal, noting her role in supporting the Church, through construction of various churches.

Mzee Lamek Ogwal, the husband of the late Cecilia Ogwal, expressed his gratitude to Archbishop Kazimba for the visit.
He described his late wife as a disciplined, God-fearing, and diligent leader who always put the interests of her people first.
