Lira City woman MP hopeful, Aceng Patricia Empowers Mothers with Mama Kits

Lira City woman Member of Parliament aspirant for the 2026 elections, Patricia Aceng Ogwang, has launched a campaign to support expectant mothers through distribution of Mama Kits.
The initiative began yesterday with distributions in Ipito Aweno-Ipito Gweno and Barogole wards, Lira City West Division.
In addition to the Mama Kits, Aceng Ogwang also handed out basins and mats to the beneficiaries.
Speaking at the launch, Aceng Ogwang who plans to contest under the ruling, National Resistance Movement (NRM) party emphasized that many women approach their delivery dates without the essential supplies needed for a safe birth.
She said this challenge motivated her to step in and offer practical support to pregnant women in her community.
Aceng Ogwang further called on the government to take stronger action against maternal mortality by addressing its root causes, especially preventable diseases linked to pregnancy.
Some of the beneficiaries of the donation including; Akello Betty, Molly Okori and Apio Vicky among others expressed their gratitude to Aceng Ogwang for the timely support, noting that the items would ease the burden on expectant mothers and contribute to safer deliveries.
