Ebong Opeto Pledges Unity, Development in Lira City West
Lira City West Division Mayor-Elect Emmanuel Ebong Opeto has pledged to promote unity among leaders and rally them to focus on development.
Speaking to the press at his home in Kichope, Lira City West Division, on Tuesday, Ebong Opeto said politics often fuels division and hatred among leaders and communities, yet unity is essential for effective service delivery and meaningful development.
He noted that disagreements, the use of abusive language, and insults characterized the political season, but emphasized that such divisions must be resolved before the new term begins in May.
Ebong Opeto called on religious leaders and elders to play a key role in fostering reconciliation and ensuring harmony among leaders, saying unity will be critical in driving development in the division.
