Lira City.
The Erute County South Member of Parliament Jonathan Odur has listed a plethora of seven key issues which he says informed his decision to withdraw from the Lango Parliamentary Group.
On Friday afternoon Jonathan Odur released a strongly worded statement detailing the reasons why he opted to withdraw his membership from the umbrella body of Lango parliamentary caucus.
Speaking to Voice of Lango 88FM Friday evening in an exclusive interview Jonathan Odur named consistent breach of the caucus constitution as the first issue which the leaders deliberately do not want to use as a guiding tool.
The second issue is the blatant abuse of authority where some leaders do not respect the position of the caucus and instead opt for their personal selfish interest.
Odur also brought out the issue of intrigue where he accused the leaders and some members of using the machinery of security to witch hunt and intimidate him and some selected members.
The vocal legislator also raised the challenge of failure by the leaders of LPG to implement carefully taken decision of the group singling out the issue of the Lira Kamdini road in which a wrong memorandum was presented to the President during his impromptu visit to settle the issue in Loro,Oyam district last week.
All these Odur said has made the group toxic and hostile for to work jointly with the group as some members and leaders of the association have made it a habit to work in isolation.
When Voice of Lango asked him on how he will front Lango agenda without working in teams with the group, Odur says he will continue to use Parliament and other forums to push for Erute South Constituency and Lango needs.
The Chairperson of Lango Parliamentary Group also Kole district Woman Member of Parliament Judith Alyek when contacted for a comment says she would talk to our reporter later by press time she hadn’t done so.
Lango Parliamentary Group currently has 33 members and with the official withdrawal of Jonathan Odur means that the group’s membership reduces to 32.
