A meeting of members of Parliament from Lango supporting the parallel faction of Lango Parliamentary group Friday ended prematurely after they failed to raise the required quorum.
Initially, about 15 members out of the 33 legislators from Lango last week denounced the leadership of Lango parliamentary group under Kole district woman MP Judith Alyek accusing her leadership of sidelining them and failing to implement agreed position of LPG.
Among the MPs who reportedly turned up for the meeting at Parliament were Agnes Atim Apea of Amolatar district, Christine Akello Gwok Adako of Erute North, Tony Ayo of Kwania, Paul Omara of Otuke, Dr. Samuel Opio Acuti of Kole North and Dorcas Acen of Alebtong district.
One of the members of parliament who attended the meeting told Voice of Lango on condition of anonymity that they convened the meeting with the view to pass a vote of no confidence on the current executives of Lango parliamentary group.
But this could not be achieved as some of their members did not show up without any communication including their defacto chairperson Okot Moses Bitek.
The MPs were also reportedly upset by a decision taken by Erute South MP Jonathan Odur of withdrawing his membership from Lango parliamentary group.
Christine Akello of Erute North constituency when contacted by Voice of Lango fm confirmed that they had a meeting at parliament although the meeting could not proceed due to lack of quorum forcing them to postpone
