Akalo technical student ends life after being coerced by parent to report back to school

A 24 year old student of Akalo Technical Institute has committed suicide.

Denish Ayo a resident of Anyambazi ‘A’ cell, Chegere parish, Chegere Sub-county, Apac District committed suicide last evening after his mother persuaded him to report back to school, something he detested.

North Kyoga Region police spokesperson Jimmy Patrick Okema said the mother of the deceased, Hellen Akuru said she asked his son to report back to school for his studies but he refused, saying that he wanted to get married.

Akuru said her son disappeared with a rope at around 3pm yesterday and when a search was mounted for him, his body was found this morning about half a kilometer away from their home hanged on a tree

The area LC1, Alfred Odongo reported the matter to police who arrived at the crime scene and handed over the body to the relatives for burial.
