Lango paramount chief elect rallies journalists to promote message of unity

New Lango paramount chief elect, Eng. Dr. Michael Moses Odongo Okune has rallied media houses and journalists to spread good news about Lango as a tribe to do away with the bad instances the region was known for like power struggle.
Odongo Okune who was meeting journalists from different media houses in Lango at his home in Senior Quarters, Lira city said journalists should now focus on news that promotes unity, love and development as being witnessed in Lango.
Odongo Okune thanked the journalists for working to restore peace in Lango.
He also cautioned journalists and media houses against entertaining ill-intentioned people who want to jeopardize the current peace in Lango, adding that the people of Lango chose a leader of their choice and his election was credible.
Eng. Dr. Odongo Okune said Lango cultural institution is acting as a lobbying tool for development in Lango.
He called for support from across the board to rectify some challenges still facing Lango culture like speaking and writing Lango language, translating the national anthem into Lango language among others.
Tony Ocen Okello one of the journalists called for support of tree seedlings, bursaries for journalists, job connections and support to their associations.
Boniface Otim Ogwal a journalist attached to Voice of Lango FM asked Dr. Odongo Okune to work with government to revive Rupiny newspaper to build capacity of journalists to write in Lango language.
John Baptist Opua advised that, the national anthem translated in Lango language should be incorporated in all schools.
