A section of staff of Apac General Hospital has been accused of corruption.

On Thursday, two people who took patients at the Hospital told Voice of Lango that one of the hospital staff solicited for money from them in exchange for medical treatment.

One of the locals said he paid money to the hospital staff to help her wife get medical assistance.

Apac District Health Officer Leone Oceng told Voice of Lango that the challenge of corruption could be existing at the facility but he blamed those who give the bribe well aware that services at government health facilities are free.

Oceng however said the matter will be taken up by authorities and those found culpable will be dealt with accordingly.

Apac district secretary for education and health Sam Opira said they have also got complaints of staff absenteeism at the Hospital and drastic measures will be taken to curb the vice.
