The Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has returned back to police the case file of a defilement case of a 14 year old girl instituted against Engineer Gerald Ogoso who has been constructing Dokolo MP, Cilicia Ogwal’s house on Obote Avenue.

Recently, Kevin Apili a maternal aunt to the minor reported Eng. Ogoso to police accusing him of defiling her niece after which the suspect was arrested.

Lira City West Division police took up the matter for investigation and the minor was subjected to medical tests by Dr. Francis Olwa which confirmed that she had been defiled.

The case of aggravated defilement is registered at Lira City West Division against Eng. Ogoso, vide SD REF No. O4/05/08/23.

Last Thursday, police of Lira City West division forwarded the case file to Lira Resident Chief State attorney for perusal and advice.

One of the State prosecutors who pleaded for anonymity told Voice of Lango FM that the resident chief state attorney on Friday evening returned back to police, the case file and directed police to launch fresh investigation into the matter.

Effort to speak to the DPC of Lira City West Division was futile after he failed to pick our call.
