Omodo Omodo elected interim speaker of Lango Cultural Foundation

The clan head (Awitong) of Pedi Wibye acel Willy Omodo Omodo Kagere has been elected as the new interim speaker (Won Tok) of the council of Owitong of Lango Cultural Foundation.

After the election,he was immediately sworn in by commissioner of oaths Simon Peter Odoo and assumed his duties to temporally replace the Speaker Benson Walter Dilla Oyuku who was conspicuously absent at the controversial meeting.

Omodo was elected Friday afternoon at a consultative meeting which turned into a council meeting attended by more than 100 Owitong at Magaritha Palace Hotel, Lira City.

During the election Omodo polled 65 votes against his main challenger Isaac Opio Opeo who garnered 24 votes.

The meeting is discussing the recent decision by the Paramount Chief of Lango Cultural Foundation Yosam Odur Ebii who sacked the entire electoral commission who was charged with organizing the election for the new paramount chief of Lango.

At the meeting, many Owitong who are loyal to the Teboke administration are absent.

  1. It’s very unfortunate amidst the struggle to develop Lango City Legally know as Lira City But God will prevail and situations will get to normal.
