MP Ayo: There is no conflict between PLU and NRM

The newly appointed assistant coordinator for Patriotic League of Uganda in charge Lango Sub-region Tonny Ayo has scoffed at critiques who are punching holes at his recent appointment at PLU saying there is no contradiction and conflict between PLU and NRM party under the leadership of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

Ayo who is also Kwania County MP and the NRM Parliamentary Whip for Lango, was appointed as the assistant coordinator for Patriotic League of Uganda by its Chairman Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba.

The other seven members who will serve with Ayo in the top leadership of PLU are, Health Minister Jane Ruth Aceng Ocero as the overall coordinator, Joe Omara Makin as the secretary, Rebecca Alwedo Ogole as the representative for people with disability, James Olobo Dubai as the elderly representative and Emmanuel Oyite as the publicity secretary.

Ayo on his official X handle (formerly twiter) Monday Morning, lashed at those portraying bad impression that NRM lost a prominent cadre in him saying PLU is not a political party but rather a platform focused on championing patriotic actions by the citizens.

“I wish to inform you that there is no contradiction and conflict between PLU and NRM party under the leadership of His Excellency Gen. Rtd Yoweri Kaguta Museveni”, said Ayo.

 Ayo who is also the Vice Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee on ICT and National guidance added that PLU is not a political party but rather a platform focused on championing patriotic actions by the citizens..

According to Ayo, PLU core values of  combating corruption and wastage of pubic resources, the now desired reforms for socioeconomic transformation of Uganda resonates with his .

“This new role allows me to apply our party’s ideologies of Patriotism, Pan Africanism, Socio-economic Transformation and Democracy in a different context of building bridges and driving positive change change”, Ayo stressed.

On his loyalty to NRM, Ayo noted that his commitment to the party’s values and mission remains unwavering, and that he will continue to work towards the revolutionary party’s goals.
