Apac district leaders launch probe into power theft at Apac hospital

Leaders of Apac district have launched a probe into alleged power theft at Apac general hospital.

The hospital spends about shs3million on power bills on a monthly basis, according to the facility administration.

Sam Opira,the secretary for health and education of Apac district said they got reports of power theft at the facility and suspect that the power is being tapped to outsiders.

Peter Obong Acuda,the speaker of Apac district said they got a report from the education and health committee during a council meeting held on 29/8//2024 about power theft at the facility and council instituted a select committee to probe the matter.

Paul Mboki the deputy CAO of Apac district called for a change in the power system at the hospital to YAKA system to mitigate power theft.

Dr. Robinah Akello the medical superintendent of Apac hospital denied claims of power theft at the health facility.
