Lira
Forum for Democratic Change-FDC party has blamed their loss in 2021 elections in Lango on violence and intimidation.
Addressing the press at Farm View Country Resort Hotel-Boroboro in
Lira City during the 2021 general election audit and overview meeting, the party President of FDC Patrick Oboi Amuriat said 2021 election wascharacterized by violence by government armed forces, intimidation, vote bribery, falsification and alteration of election results among
others.
Oboi said as a result of unfairness in the elections, they have managed to win in only three major slots, that is; Cecilia Atim Ogwal woman member of parliament Dokolo district, Okot B,tek member of
parliament Kyoga county, and James Otto Apili Dokolo district chairman.
Oboi alleged that; Patrick Ongom Okwel who contested in Ajuri County in Alebtong district and Vincent Opitu who contested in Dokolo south for MP seat actually won but their results were alternated with that of
NRM candidates.
He said their members are now tasked to mobilize funds and the public, as well as engaging in the struggle against what they termed as “bad leadership” of the NRM government
Having learnt that the 2021 election was not free and fair, the national vice chairperson FDC JB Okello Okello said they are now embarking on preparation for the subsequent elections.
