Aduku town council in Kwania district is experiencing an influx of witch doctors that are migrating from other districts.

Some leaders of the Sub County have expressed fear that this may cause insecurity as locals continue to flock the premises of witchdoctors in the quest for their services.

In January 2021 Aduku town council leadership launched an operation to weed out the witch doctors but they have continued to migrate to the area.

The witch doctors advertise their business on the walls of their houses and on tree stems to attract customers.

Jimmy Uhuru, the LC1 chairman of Aduku township cell, said the presence of the witch doctors is driving up cases of domestic violence in the area.

Okot Calvin, the youth councilor of Aduku town council, asked people to utilize the church institution to resolve different challenges as opposed to witch doctors.

Retired Rev. David Nelson Okello Ocen, of West Lango diocese asked people to draw closer to God and church in a bid to enjoy everlasting peace.
