Members of the parliamentary public accounts committee last evening threw out the Director of Lira regional referral hospital, Dr. John Stephen Olweny Obbo for appearing before them without accountability for utilization of funds for the financial year 2020/2021.
Dr Obbo appeared before the committee to respond to queries in the auditor’s general report for 2020/2021 financial year.
The meeting was deferred after Dr Oboo failed to avail financial documents to account for the funds as demanded by the vice chairperson of the public accounts committee Asuman Basalirwa.
MP Asuman Basalirwa directed Dr Obbo to reappear before them with all relevant documents on 30/6/2022.
