Police of Kwania District have in their custody a couple for allegedly throwing their new born baby in a pit latrine.
Robina Ajok, a resident of Aweilok, in Itekober parish, Nambieso Sub County gave birth on Monday night but her husband Kenneth Abila threw the baby in a pit latrine while his wife also went ahead and threw her placenta in the pit latrine.
Guna Samson, the LCI chairman of Aweilok said they recovered the body of the baby that had no life.
The couple has been married for some years now and has a four year old child.
The Officer in charge Nambieso police station Bernard Okello confirmed the matter adding that the duo is being held at Kwania Central Police Station.
Robert Tile Oguna, the deputy minister of culture at Lango Cultural Foundation condemned the act saying it is not in line with Lango culture.
