Nine suspected stolen motorcycles discovered in Oyam

Police in Oyam district has mounted a search for two people in whose house police discovered suspected stolen motorcycles on Saturday.

The suspects are; Maxwell Ocen and Ambrose Ayo who are residents of Otwe B, Obangeo parish in Acaba Sub County.

The motorcycles were discovered in an operation spearheaded by the Oyam DPC, SP Mubanginzi Innocent.

DPC Mubanginzi said that they conducted a search in the house of Maxwell Ocen witnessed by the area LC1, Moses Okello, Chairman LC3 of Loro town council, Robert Ekwaro and the suspect’s wife and motorcycles registration numbers; UDR 589N, UFJ 566V and UFL 373Z were discovered.

Police also arrested Sarah Acen the wife to Maxwell Ocen to aid investigation into the matter with the case being registered as vide SD ref.14/27/08/2022.

DPC Mubanginzi said another operation was conducted at the home of Ambroze Ayo where six motorcycles registration number; UDK 553G, UFJ 741R, UFH 642V, UEC 771X, UFG 431T and UFN 227S were discovered.

Mubanginzi said that they suspect the motorcycle registration number; UFJ 741R could have been the one that was recently stolen from Senior Quarters, Lira City East division belonging to Kennedy Engim who was killed by the motorcycle thieves.

Police also suspects that the motorcycle number UFL 373Z was stolen from a church premise in Apac district and belongs to Patrick Okwir

DPC Mubanginzi added they would conduct screening for the suspected stolen motorcycles today at Oyam central police station.
