Otuke

Otuke District chairman Francis Abola has accused the district woman MP Susan Abeja of fighting development in the district.

Abola made the accusation, after reports emerged that MP Susan Abeja had reportedly stopped the distribution of 14 hand walking tractors to framers in Sub Counties and town councils in the district.

He said the action of Susan Abeja to stop the distribution of tractors tantamount to sabotaging development in the district.

Abola said the tractors would have been distributed at this time that the rains have returned to support farming.

Abola said Abeja had also sabotaged the rehabilitation of roads in different parts of the district.

Abola added that the guideline for distribution of tractors from ministry of agriculture directs them to distribute the tractors to Sub Counties from where they are to be hired by interested farmers, and not for them to be handed over directly to farmers as Abeja wants

The chairperson of LC3’s of Otuke District also the LC3 chairman of Adwari Sub County, Simon Obong asked Susan Abeja to allow Otuke District leaders to implement projects in the district without distraction.

However, Susan Abeja has maintained that the ministry of agriculture had directed that the tractors should be given directly to farmers and not Sub Counties as claimed by Abola.
