Over 60 households in Otuke demand for Shs1.9 billion government compensation for Adwari SS land

Over 60 households in Adwari town council, Otuke district are demanding 1.9 billion shillings from government for the 150 hectares of land that they offered to Adwari secondary school.

Alice Okar who is leading the affected persons said in 1996, they offered the land to Adwari SS as requested by government but they were later stopped from using the land and are now stranded about their next move.

Alice Okar said in the past, government sent a government valuer who assessed the land and recommended that they should be compensated with 1.5 billion shillings for the land and 450.9 million shillings for other damages however, to date, no action was taken in fulfilling the agreement.

She thereforerequests various leaders in Lango in different capacities to help them follow up on the matter.

Otuke county MP, Paul Omara promised to make a follow up on the same with government to ensure they get compensated.
