Awany Opts Out: Kole LCV Chairman Awany Declines MP Bid Under NRM

Kole District LCV Chairman, Andrew Moses Awany, has announced that he will not contest for the Kole South MP seat under the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party ticket.

Awany cited persistent disagreements within the NRM leadership in Kole as the reason for his decision.

Awany expressed concerns over internal conflicts within the party, stating that they have left him with no viable chance of winning under the NRM banner.

He recounted his experience during the 2021 general elections, where he won the NRM flag for the Kole LCV seat with a landslide victory but was controversially denied both the party flag and campaign funding.

Awany also highlighted his objections to the recent party structure elections, where he formally wrote to the NRM leadership to halt the process over alleged irregularities. However, his concerns were ignored.

Meanwhile, Boniface Okot has been declared unopposed as the NRM flag bearer for the Kole South MP seat.
