West Lango diocese, Agwiciri P/S feud over Shs 52M roads compensation fee

West Lango diocese is involved in a feud with Agwiciri Primary School in Kwania district over 52 million shillings that the Uganda National Road Authority (UNRA) is supposed to compensate the school with for part of their land affected by the construction of Rwemkunye-Masindi Port, Apac-Aduku- Lirato Puranga town.
Washington Omua, the chairperson School Management Committee of Agwiciri Primary School said that in the past West Lango diocese opened an account to receive the payment from UNRA, being the foundation body of the school.
Speaking on Tuesday at a meeting held to deliberate on the matter, Kwania district chairman Geoffrey Alex Ogwal decried high cases of foundation body wrangles in the district but pledged to work hard to resolve them.
Kwania DEO Bunga Samuel said there is no legal basis on which West Lango diocese can rely to get compensation for the school land.
The meeting came out with several resolutions which includes among others; the funds being channeled to Agwiciri Primary School accounts, UNRA compensating the school before the project proceeds.
Rev. Ecau Omara Ejon who is in charge land at West Lango diocese said he will report back the resolutions of the meeting to the diocese for action.
