Abia Sub County LCV councilor in Alebtong district Theophilas Obua has given 14 days ultimatum to Alebtong district local government to remove from office, two engineers whose offices were scrapped off by government or else he will drag the district to court.

In his letter of intention to sue addressed to Alebtong district, Obua said government scrapped off the office of Tom Opio as superintendent of works and Eng. Ayek Nelson as Assistant engineering officer mechanical in 2016.

Obua said on 22/12/2023, council directed Alebtong district to send the two on leave and to stop paying their salaries.

However, Obua says up to date, Alebtong district has remained adamant on the matter of the duo has continued to receive salaries from tax payers’ money.

Obua also threatened to petition the State House Anti-corruption unit and Inspectorate of Government to launch a probe into the matter.

Alebtong Chief administrative officer Robert Abenitwe by press time said he had not yet seen a copy of this letter.
