Dokolo south MP Felix Okot Ogong has called for unity among MPs in debating on issues of development of Uganda without basing on party affiliation.

Speaking at an emergency council sitting to eulogize Henry Kisaja Kyemba who served as minister together with Felix Okot Ogong also asked opposition politicians to remain disciplined while debating in the august house.

He further asked deputy speaker of parliament Thomas Tayebwa to give opposition MPs ample time to debate on the floor of parliament.

Okot Ogong said Henry Kyemba was close to the people of Lango and Uganda since he also served in , Dr.Milton Obote’s regime who worked for the development of the country and youth empowerment still for development.

He said Ugandans should emulate the late President Dr. Milton Obote who mentored youth for leadership, including Henry Kyemba together with President Yoweri Museveni.

Last week, some MPs aligned to the National Unity Platform matched out of parliament in protest over laxity by government to settle harassment of their members by security.

Dokolo district woman MP Cecilia Atim Ogwal said Henry Kyemba who also worked with Iddi Amin Dada’s government protected many people from Amin’s iron fisted rule including Cecilia Ogwal’s husband whom she said survived being killed by Amin on allegation of recruiting youth to fight his government.

Cecilia Ogwal asked the ruling government to work with well-accomplished people like the late Henry Kyemba and Ben Wacha who worked and left behind clean records in their service.
