West Lango diocese has threatened to take stern action against one of their church members who recently sought services of a witchdoctor to recover his stolen motorcycle, leading to the death of two people in Aduku Town council.

Last week, Ogwang Owani Cezi a member of St Peters’ Cathedral-Aduku in Kwania district which is the diocesan headquarters of West Lango brought a witchdoctor from Soroti District to help him recover his motorcycle that was stolen from the church premise.

However, two of the five people who were paraded as suspects in the theft of the motorcycle died mysteriously after the witchdoctor performed magic spells on them in Alany cell, Teduka ward, Aduku Town Council, Kwania district.

Now, Rev. Joel Tema the Vicar of St Peters Cathedral, Aduku told Christians during Sunday service yesterday that the diocesan leadership will sit for a meeting this week to decide on serious action to be taken against Ogwang Owani.

Rev Tema asked Christians to strengthen their faith in God to avoid temptation from the devil.

Ordinand Peter Otim, a mission team member of West Lango diocese said the matter should be treated as an individual mistake that should not be blamed on the entire church.

Otim said they are waiting for what action will be preferred against Owani by the diocesan leadership.
