People of Lango may have to wait a little longer for the planned construction of Lira-Kamdini road since the project contractor; Motaengil Africa is still waiting for some raw materials used in road tarmacking.

In July, UNRA promised leaders from Lango during a monitoring visit of the road that the ongoing forward maintenance of sections of the road would end in August while the actual construction work would begin in September this year.

While speaking at the flag off of the project, state minister of works and transport, Musa Ecweru tasked Motaengil to expedite the construction of Lira-Kamdini road

However, yesterday Lango parliamentary group general secretary Dr Samuel Opio Acuti explained that UNRA had informed them that forward maintenance works was still ongoing and would end in August and construction would begin in September 2022.

He however said the project has failed to kick off since the contractor is still waiting for some raw materials to support tarmacking works.
