National Youth council leaders have collected their signatories with the aim of removing the members of their National Executive Committee over alleged corruption.

In their letter dated 7th/09/2022 signed by the women affairs secretary for Masindi district, Shamim Kobusinge the members of the youth council numbering over 200 have collected their signatories accusing the chairperson, youth council Jacob Eyeru, treasurer, Sam Ogwal, Nankya Esther, Otto Wilson among 11 others of corruption.

They accuse them of misusing the National Youth council funds, failure to convene the national youth council meeting for the last two years, among others.

Kobusinge said the youth National Executive Committee should immediately cease operations until the accusations levied against them have been disposed off.

They have also written to the electoral commission, ministry of gender, and NRM party electoral commission calling for election of new members of the National Executive Committee.

But Sam Ogwal the treasurer, national youth council said the petitioners did not follow the right procedures in removing them from office, since they were supposed to wait for the youth council meeting from where they would raise the matter and the accused persons were supposed to be given time to respond.

Kobusinge said they are only waiting for a response from the electoral commission over their request for organization of an election to replace the youth National Executive Committee.
