Archbishop of Church of Uganda to have a four day pastoral visit in West Lango Diocese

The Bishop of Church of Uganda, the Most Rev Dr. Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu will be in West Lango Diocese this week for a four day pastoral visit.

During the pastoral visit that will start this Friday, the archbishop will visit Oyam, Kole, Kwania and Apac.

According to the West Lango Diocesan secretary, Rev. Robert Edinga, the pastoral visit was supposed to be in 2020 but was postponed due to the outbreak of Covid-19.

Rev. Edinga said Archbishop Kazima will begin his visit on Friday at St Peters Church of Uganda in Anyek in Oyam district and proceed to Kole archdeaconry headquarters and later to St Peters Cathedral Church Aduku in Kwania district before concluding his visit in St Thomas Church of Uganda, Apac.

The Dean of St Peters Cathedral Aduku Rev. Vincent Ogwang who is the zonal coordinator of the archbishop visit in Kwania said the archbishop will pray for students of Aduku Seconday School during his visit.

Rev. Ogwang said they had budgeted shs. 300 million for the archbishop’s visit but had only realized shs 159.5 million.

Rev. James Okee the archdeacon of Apac who is also the zonal coordinator of Apac for the archbishop’s visit said they will welcome the archbishop at the border of Kwania.

Rev. Okee thanked leaders at various levels in the district for the support they are giving towards this cause.  

Archbishop Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu succeeded Stanley Ntangali as the archbishop of the Church of Uganda.
