Kole South Member of Parliament Peter Ocen Akalo plans to drag two of his constituents to court over defamation.

On 30th/1/2023, Ocen Akalo through his lawyer Raymond Ongom of Gumtwero and company advocates wrote a notice of intention to sue Walter Ayo and Jashper Okullo who are local residents of Adakingo village in Akalo Sub County over allegation of defaming him in one of the local radio stations in Lira City.

Ocen Akalo in his notice of intention to sue gave the pair two weeks to pay him shs 50 million and publically apologize to him.

However, Ongom told Voice of Lango that both Ayo and Okullo said they are not interested in any negotiation with Ocen over the matter but instead demanded shs 100 million from Ocen over allegation that he is threatening them.

Ongom said they have been left with no option rather than proceeding with civil suit against the duo. An attempt to get comment from Ayo and Okullu over the matter was futile by press time.
