Forum for Democratic Change party swears in Lango leaders

The Forum for Democratic Change-FDC party has sworn in its leaders in Lango.

In a function held at Apostolic Social Centre- Lira city the party chairpersons, secretaries, treasurers among other leaders in Lango were sworn in.

The party’s director legal affairs, Julius Galisonga while swearing in the party leaders said they are remaining with only one month to elect new leaders since their tenure which was extended by three years due to coronavirus pandemic ends in October this year.

Galisonga asked the leaders to attend the party delegates’ conference slated for 6th /10/2023 where the party president and other leaders will be elected.

The party’s Northern Uganda vice chairman who doubles as chairperson disciplinary committee James Otto Apili said mediation efforts between the two party factions is going on smoothly.

Otto Apili also said the party will begin remitting 50% of their funds to districts.

The FDC chairperson for Namutumba district who doubles campaign coordinator for the party’s secretary general Nandala Mafabi and party president Patrick Oboi Amuriat Jamal Wante said the faction that consists of FDC Semujja Nganda wants the electoral commission disbanded and a committee of elders probes the dealings of the party president and secretary general.

Oyam district FDC Chairman Bryan Oguta said Lango is being denied top party leadership positions, saying the treasury general should come from Lango.
