Oyam councilors concerned over stalled roads project

A section of councilors in Oyam district have expressed concern over delayed rehabilitation of roads with shs. 1billion given by central government.

Oyam district launched the road rehabilitation project late last year but the project has stopped.

Ceasor Apale, a councillor of Loro Town Council noted that the other neighboring districts the road repairs are going on well but in Oyam construction of six roads were launched but works stalled.

Easy Bash, a male workers’ Councillor said they are getting a lot of concern from community members over the stalling of the road project.

Atoo Walter, the Councillor of Nagi Sub County said despite that the road project started well in his sub county, other sub counties the road rehabilitation has not yet started.

Billy Otoo a councillor of Otwal Sub County who doubles as the chairperson of committee of works in response said roads rehabilitation stalled as a result of breakdown of the district grader.

Otto added that technical repair of the grader will be complete this week and roads rehabilitation will continue.
