UPC party president Akena calls on Lango to elect him as president to enjoy effective service delivery

Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) Party President, Jimmy James Akena Obote has rallied the people of Lango to elect him as president of Uganda if they are to enjoy effective service delivery.

Akena Obote who doubles as Lira City East Division MP, said he will use his position as president to ensure Lango enjoys equal development opportunities.

Addressing locals of Dokolo district during his mobilization tour, Akena said he has for long been begging government to support developments in Lango including cattle compensation, improving education standards, health, in vain.

Akena said he will use his position once elected as president in 2026 to fight for developments.

Oyam north MP, Dr. Eunice Apio Otuku who represented MPs aligned to UPC said winning Oyam north by-election drew more support for UPC party.

UPC Lango regional vice chairman Chris Ongom said UPC party is very ready to take over power.

Dokolo District chairman James Otoo Apili called for unity among Ugandans, regardless of political affiliation.

Some LCV chairpersons in Lango including; Geoffrey Alex Ogwal Adyebo of Kwania and Geoffrey Ocen Kiring of Amolatar asked James Otoo Apili of Dokolo who doubles as FDC’s northern regional vice chairman to cross to UPC from FDC party.

UPC party leaders also visited homes of prominent UPC stalwarts who include; Dr. Syrlo Egwange from Adok, Adunia Olwa from Agwata, Matia Okuja from Agwata and Ojede John Orec from Okwongodul Sub County.
