The newly appointed board members of the National Council of Sports have been sworn in to start work.

The 7 member board were sworn in and inaugurated by City lawyer Dr Aadam Makmot Kibwanga at copper Chimney in Lugogo and witnessed by Minister Peter Ogwang and National Council of sports secretary Dr.Patrick Ogwel.

Last week, the Minister of State for sports Peter Ogwang appointed members to the apex body of the National Council of sports

Tashobya Ambrose was named as the chairperson, Basemera Jacqueline,Stephen Kiprotich, Moses Anyii Omara, Anyakoit Cecilia, Piloya Evelyn Gloria and Galiwango Zubair as members and will serve for a period of four years.

According to Ogwang, the board members appointment is meant to strengthen the council’s improve operations and financial performance, re-enforce transparency, accountability to bridge the gap between National Council of sports management and various sports associations/federations.
