Otuke District NRM Politicians Abandon Joint Campaigns
Otuke District politicians have refused to contribute resources to facilitate joint campaigns, prompting the NRM Party leadership to call off the arrangement.
Before the joint campaigns, the aspirants in a meeting on the 4th July 2025 at the RDCs office, resolved to contribute shillings 100,000/- each daily towards the joint campaigns.
The resources contributed were meant to support hiring of public address system and other miscellaneous.
The NRM party election officer for Otuke district Boniface Ouni reports that the arrangement came as a result of lack of support for managing elections from the party headquarters yet they require a lot to facilitate campaigns.
Ouni reports that while other contestants agreed to this arrangement, others contested, rendering this arrangement unsuccessful.
The deputy RDC Otuke Francis Okwameri says due to the failed joint campaigns arrangement, their offices now require movement plan for each candidate from the party leadership guiding movements to avoid collusion of candidate’s supporters in the field.
However, he hailed the candidates for the level of discipline that has been exhibited so far.
