Northern regional Kadhi sacked over abuse of office

The Mufti of Uganda His Eminence, Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje has sacked the northern Uganda regional Khadi, Sheikh Abdulah Aziz Hussein over abuse of office.

Sheik Ramadhan Mubaje during his visit in Lira city yesterday announced that he has relieved Sheikh Abdulah Aziz Hussein off his duty.

This came after Sheikh Mubajje found Sheikh Abdulah Aziz Hussein’s office without any office equipment.

He replaced Sheikh Abdulah Aziz Hussein with Sheikh Musa Khalil of Acholi Muslim District.

Sheikh Mubajje said Sheik Abdulah Aziz Hussein also failed to account for revenue collected from Juba market.

However, Sheikh Abdulah Aziz Hussein accused leaders of Uganda Muslim Supreme Council of threats which was affecting his work.

Lira Resident District Commissioner Lawrence Egole called for forgiveness and co-existence among Muslim leaders for effect delivery of services.

Egole warned the Muslim community against bickering over Juba market, and threatened that the city authority could take over the market if the wangles continue.

Egole tasked the new regional Kadhi Sheikh Musa Khalil to foster unity among Muslims.
