Police at Otuke Central Police Station are holding a woman for allegedly assaulting her husband to death over meat.
The woman who is identified as Caroline Adongo is a resident of Bar-Okango village is alleged to have assaulted her husband Geoffrey Apero following a misunderstanding that ensued over meat which Apero bought on Wednesday-12th-2022
Sam Opio, a resident of the area and a relative to the deceased told Voice of Lango fm that Apero had wanted his wife to smoke the meat but the woman instead chose to boil which later angered the husband.
After picking a quarrel, Adongo reportedly hit the husband with a club, leaving him unconscious.
Apero was later rushed to a nearby drug shop unfortunately; he passed on moments after he was admitted.
Opio said that family of the deceased stopped police from picking the body for postmortem and instead asked police to conduct it from home to save them from meeting unnecessary costs.
After the incident, Caroline Adongo reportedly took off until last Thurday night when she reported to the police at Ogor police post.
A police officer attached to Ogor police outpost who spoke to us on condition of anonymity confirmed that Adongo reported and was immediately transferred to Otuke central police station where she is currently being detained
