Court releases Kwania teacher accused of stealing Cassava

Aduku Magistrate Court has released a primary school teacher of Acoinino primary school in Abongomola sub county, Kwania who was arrested over an allegation of theft of Cassava.

Felista  Adongo was arrested on 19/10/2022 after she failed to pay shs 700,000 to five men who cultivated her garden but later used them to allegedly steal cassava from the garden of one Walter Owiny who is a business man at Etekiber.

Daniel Obel, Paul Okao, Kwintu Kali and others said after Adongo failed to pay them she led them to a cassava garden that she claims belongs to her.

However, Adongo denied the allegation saying it was framed to tarnish her name.

Walter Owiny accepted to pay a fine of shs 800,000 to settle the matter out of court in a bid to enable him continue with his work.

Kwania DEO Samuel Bunga castigated the incident saying the law should take its course on such individuals.
