Abubakar Technical Services apologizes over slow progress of project in Lira City

Authorities of Abubakar Technical Services have apologized for slow progress in their project in Lira City under Uganda Support to Municipality Infrastructure development (USMID) program
In a tour of their project yesterday, Lira City business community led by the director of chambers of commerce for northern Uganda Bosco Ogwang Edola, officials of Lira City and project consultant, it was discovered that there is general slow progress in roads and construction of Coronation park and Adyel children park projects being executed by Abukaker Technical Services .
At Boundary road, it was found that there were inconsistencies in the width of the road measurement between 12, 14 and 16 meters at different sections.
After the project inspection, a meeting at Lira City Boardroom resolved that Abubakar Technical Services were told to put emphasis in completing road projects from the central business district, improve the quality of work in one month and a monthly inspection of the progress of the project.
Ogwang Edola while speaking at the meeting said as business community thet are dissatisfied with the quality and progress of work being executed by Abubakar Technical Services and Al-nuami Group.
He also accused leaders of Lira City of not doing much in checking the progress in the quality of work Abubakar Technical services and Al-nuami group is executing in Lira City.
The president of Lira City Development Forum Morris Chris Ongom gave the company an ultimatum of completing major works before December because of the busy nature of the festive season.
Lira City West Member of Parliament Vincent Obong Eyit said as Mps of Lira City they were not in support of project extension of Abubaker Technical Services for seven months.
Eng. Musoke Joseph who represented the contractor at the meeting pledged that by 10/12/2022 much of the work will be complete.
